Is your young learner showing signs of reading difficulties or just starting their reading journey? Our Comprehensive Reading Evaluation Session is designed specifically for K-2nd grade students to identify their current reading abilities and create a personalized plan to support their reading development. What to Expect: During this 45-minute session, our experienced reading specialist will engage your child in a series of fun and interactive activities to assess their reading skills. The evaluation is designed to be playful and age-appropriate, ensuring your child feels comfortable and enjoys the process. Evaluation Components: Reading Fluency: We will listen to your child read a simple passage aloud to assess their reading speed and accuracy. Reading Comprehension: Your child will listen to a short story and answer basic questions to demonstrate their understanding. Vocabulary: We will introduce a few age-appropriate words and ask your child to define or use them in a sentence. Phonics and Word Recognition: We will evaluate your child’s ability to recognize and read basic sight words and CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. Letter-Sound Correspondence: We will check your child's ability to match letters with their corresponding sounds. Personalized Plan: Following the evaluation, you will receive a detailed report outlining your child's current reading level, strengths, and areas needing improvement. Based on the results, our reading specialist will create a customized plan tailored to your child's unique needs. This plan will include targeted strategies, recommended activities, and resources to help your child progress towards their reading goals.
